Getting involved
We are very keen to see as many tenants as possible take part in shaping our service - it is only by listening to you that we can provide the services that you need and expect.
CSHA strongly supports the aims of the new Tenant Services Authority, to make associations more accountable to their tenants and to raise the quality of their services, and we are keen to find new ways to work with tenants to achieve this.
You can find out more about the Tenant Services Authority at www.tenantservicesauthority.org.
We communicate with tenants in a variety of ways to give choice and encourage people to get involved:
- Tenants Panel – With two representatives from each scheme, the panel meets every three months. Tenants are able to raise issues through their representatives and these will be discussed at the Tenants Panel meetings.
- Surveys – The Association carries out surveys every two years looking at all aspects of our services to tenants. Survey feedback is discussed with tenants to help us improve services.
- Scheme meetings – Coffee mornings and tea afternoons give the opportunity for tenants to bring issues to the attention of the Housing Manager. These meetings take place monthly and the Housing Manager will consult with tenants and feed back progress on issues raised.
- Newsletter – Tenants are encouraged to contribute towards the contents of the quarterly newsletter to ensure that it reflects the views and issues from all schemes.
- Scheme activities – We will encourage more activities at the schemes, reflecting tenants’ interests. Tenants at all our schemes are encouraged to take part in the organisation of social events. We also plan to encourage the use of the communal lounges by other organisations providing activities that our tenants could take part in.
Consultation
From time to time we may consult you on any changes we propose to make to our services. We use a range of techniques to consult with you:
- Surveys (including general surveys, email and telephone surveys)
- Tenants' Panel
- Focus Groups (set up to get feedback on particular areas of work, from a sample of tenants selected at random)
- Newsletters
- Consultation bulletins
- Scheme meetings
To enable our tenants to have a say and influence how our services are provided, we will help with travel costs.
A copy of the Association’s Tenant Participation Policy will be given to all new tenants as part of the sign up process.
